Every year there are new wedding trends that keep getting bolder and bigger. We always like to stay as up-to-date as possible, with what’s chic and in vogue in the wedding market. And so, the team at Plan Your Event and Book A DJ Cork have compiled a useful guide of this years most relevant and popular trends. So, if you’re getting married this year, here are some of the biggest wedding trends for 2017:
#1: Unique Invitations:
Wedding Invitations are fast becoming very different than they use to be. Now, it pays off to be different. It’s what makes you stand out. Some of the new trends for this season include glow-in-the-dark ink, bold envelopes like a shocking fuchsia with white ink, bespoke illustrations, among many others. Even the fonts are changing, from the traditional gold or silver script and calligraphy styles to more modern slim-line and geometric typeface fonts that dominate the newest contemporary websites and graphic design trends.
#2: Ask For What You Really Want:
It was unthinkable for many soon-to-be-married couples to ask specifically about what they wanted just a few years ago. However, it’s not the time to just get a bunch of things you’ll never use. Yes, you can still register for the upgraded cookware or for fine china, among other traditional wedding gifts. However, more and more couples are attracted to different things. By far the most common gift is obviously cash, but some of the new trends emerging include things like pottery classes, museum membership, mountain bikes, or wine tasting classes. Charity registries are also on the rise and the trend should prevail during this year.
#3: Color Comeback:
After so many years with pastels and neutrals, it’s time for the color to come back. You can expect to see bright color pairings and a lot of pop shades. When in doubt about the color, go for greenery, and earthy and vibrant colors. Very chic in 2017, you can see it on everything from colored linens to the floral arrangements.
#4: Going Green:
There’s no doubt that we have been seeing, in the last few years, a tendency to go au naturel. Outdoor weddings are a huge trend lately. However, if you’re getting married during the winter, you just can’t be under the stars. Oh, but you can! While you can’t be outside, you can certainly bring them inside with you.
Incorporate nature elements in the decoration, like stone and wood, get some high potted trees and place them strategically to give the idea of a forest. There are a lot of things you can do to bring the nature to your wedding, even though you need to be indoors.
#5: The Getaway:
When the newly married couple exit the church or ceremony, we are only used to seeing great getaways in movies. And even though it may be a little expensive (depending on what you choose), you can be sure your guests will be amazed and it will most definitely make your wedding memorable to everyone. You can have an unexpected getaway by helicopter, in a horse-drawn carriage, or on the back of a motorcycle.
#6: Guest Entertainment:
Besides having a great Wedding DJ, you need to be able to entertain your guests with different activities. So, more and more couples are turning to alternative entertainment options, in addition to the band and DJ.
A professional Magician is still one of the hottest wedding entertainment trends, mingling through the crowd performing amazing close-up magic. This also helps break the ice with dinner guests that might not be familiar with each other. The Photo Booth also remains at the top of the list for 2017. However, there are brand new and innovative photography entertainment options taking over the wedding market for 2017, one of which is the newly popular hashtag printing by Social Print.
